So after a nightmare of getting fobbed off and made to feel like a nuisance I found an amazing gynaecologist who diagnosed me privately . Luckily she is now in charge of my NHS treatment. As she thought, it is a small stage one tumour with no spread so I was booked in for surgery next Monday.
Had my pre op assessment stress test etc and was low risk for surgery so off I went to get my bits and pieces for hospital stay only to get a phone call saying the surgery had to be cancelled because there was an issue with my thyroid and could be life threatening post surgery.
They have jumped through hoops at the hospital. Seeing endocrinologist tomorrow to get my it sorted at least to a safe level and surgery rescheduled for 4 weeks time. They have no concerns about surgery delay so fingers crossed things all go well now. Fingers and toes crossed!
Hi MasM
It’s good this has been discovered before it became an issue, but frustrating to have your surgery cancelled. Four weeks is not long to wait, although it probably feels like a long time when you’re psyched up for it, and a delay of a few weeks should not make any material difference at all.
Hope you get on well with your appointment today and get started on any necessary medication-they have certainly moved quickly in getting you sorted out and seen.

Excellent news-all systems go for the new year now! I am retired and alone all day, so this community gives me a focus and a lot of interactions with some lovely and inspiring people. It’s a real pleasure also to be able to offer support to new people coming along-I love my role here!

Thank you so much, glad to help where I can. Definitely keep in touch-I feel a bit sad when someone joins and makes a post but then we don’t see them again so it’s nice when people stick around and then can help others who join us,

I’ve never had a stress test and I’ve had more than one pre op, so I hope @MasM can confirm what it involved. I thought it was a test for your heart to make sure you are fit for surgery, but not sure.
