Hi everyone , so good to have a community around this to chat to. I have my first LLETZ three weeks ago and still waiting on results of the biopsy.
seeing the cells was probably the scariest bit. But once they did the LLETZ I felt a little relieved. That said, the wait it awful. I feel very guilty as my last Smear test was in 2016 and I just kept postponing because of work and holiday! Such a stupid decision.
what happens once you get your biopsy results? Will they tell you what stage the cancer is at? I was told it could still be CIN 3 but they don’t really know until we get the results. And what happens after that?
I am so so sad and sorry for everyone going through this at various stages- sending lots of strength and courage ! Xxx

Hi LaraV and welcome to our group!
Having a biopsy doesn’t mean you will get a cancer diagnosis-it may well still come back as CIN of some sort-precancerous cells, or the LLETZ may have cleared all the abnormal cells with clear margins, in which case no further treatment would be required.
It’s too early for you to be thinking about cancer at this point-the biopsy will identify if there is cancer but not the stage. Scans would be needed for that. I know it’s horrible to be waiting for results but try not to assume you have cancer at this point-you don’t until they tell you otherwise, IF they do!
Please let us know how you get on-we have lots of experience of treatments in the group so will help support you, but hopefully you only have CIN3 at worst, and your LLETZ will have been successful.
