Been provisionally diagnosised with stage 2b but depends on the PET CT scan results.
What is the livelihood that it will be changed to stage 3???
As getting worried now as started to get dull pain around the pelvis.
Hi Debbie45 and welcome to the group
It’s a horrible time waiting for scan results with the uncertainty of what those might be. It’s impossible to say what the likelihood of a higher stage is, as it will depend on whether the scan identifies any lymphnode involvement, which would automatically push the stage up to 3.
I was diagnosed as 2b and stayed that way as I didn’t have lymphnode involvement, and I think for the moment all you can do is assume that this will be the case for you-try not to anticipate anything worse before you know more as you might spend a lot of time worrying for no reason. I had a lot of pelvic pain and was convinced things would be worse than they were, but my fears were unfounded- it’s just our minds going to worst case scenario.
The treatment for stage 2b and stage 3 will be broadly the same-it will involve chemoradiation and internal radiation (brachytherapy) and many of us in the group have gone through this and come out the other side. So there are lots of us who can give support, advice and encouragement as you go through everything. Do you know how long you’ve got to wait to get your results? Once you get these and get your treatment plan, things do become easier to cope with mentally.
Please feel free to ask any questions at all, and we’ll do our best to help based on our own experiences. The group is a safe place to talk about any worries, find out more information or just have a vent if you need to, and you’re very welcome to be with us. Please let us know how you get on.

The most annoying thing is that the PET Scan had to be done at another hospital. I phoned my hospital twice to tell them when my scan was taking place. I had a answer phone message yesterday says they have no record of my calls and therefore haven't chase the results.
On phoning all I am getting is a answer phone machine, and this is seems to be causing unnecessary delays.
Could your CNS chase this up for you? I had my pet scan at a different hospital but no delays in results so they did seem to be all communicating quite well with each other.
