Hi all,

im new here, I fell down the Google rabbit hole and the thought maybe coming here would help with my anxiety. So a little about my situation. I have bleeding in between periods and heavy periods also am in my period more then I am off. I went to my gp and have now been referred to a gynaecologist. I seen them yesterday they are sending me for a biopsy and ultrasound. My main question is that they did a vaginal exam and in there dr talk for there notes I heard them say my cervix and womb is inflamed. Is this something that anyone has had and can I be blunt ans ask did that lead to a cervical cancer diagnosis?? That is just where my brain has gone and I’m so worried. Just wondered if anyone else had the same.

Thank you in advance to anyone who could help x

  • Hi  and welcome to the group.

I’m sorry you are so worried, but it’s natural when you don’t have answers to your situation. I wouldn’t recommend dr Google, as that certainly won’t give you any answers, and usually only serves to increase anxiety. It cannot give you a correct diagnosis.

Being in the limbo of waiting for further tests is difficult, and we can all relate to that, but the best thing to do is try to keep occupied while you are waiting, and try not to let your thoughts run away with themselves at this stage.

It may be that other ladies have been told they had an inflamed cervix and womb, but everyone is unique and it’s often not helpful to try and match your symptoms to someone else’s.

I have no experience of this type of inflammation, as I went straight to a cancer diagnosis after a biopsy, but others may come along who had something similar and be able to share their story.

Hopefully you will not have long to wait for your next tests, and will get reassurance that this is nothing sinister. Please feel free to keep sharing and posting in the group and we’ll help out with advice and support if we can, based on our own experiences.

    Sarah xx
