Hey guys so I'm still waiting for mri to see what stage I am but my chest xrays came back clear... I'm relieved but have a question.... does that mean it's easily treatable as it hasn't spread upwards or is that wishful thinking
Thanks x
Hi Cerrys
It’s good news that your chest X-ray is clear, but at this stage it’s impossible to say anything really about treatment because you don’t know what stage the cancer is.
Cervical cancer has particular places it might typically spread to, and the lungs would be classed as distant spread, but it doesn’t automatically spread upwards. It can go to other places closer to the original site of the cancer, and the mri will be looking at the pelvic area.
Cervical cancer at all stages is treatable, though not always curable, but I’m not sure I’d use the words “easily treatable”. No matter what treatment is involved, it is tough.
Do you know when you’re having your mri, or have you had it and are waiting for the results?
Sarah xx
