Hi all, I was diagnosed with stage 1B1 in Jan 2019 while 26 weeks pregnant with my son. After 6 rounds of chemo (3 during pregnancy and 3 post) followed by a radical trachelectomy in July 2019 I was given the all clear that August. I’ve been so lucky and my 3 monthly check ups have been all good and I successfully fell pregnant at the end of last year. Today I went back to colposcopy to check the stitch and have a look (currently 26 weeks pregnant) and my consultant was not happy with what she saw. I have a growth, potentially a polyp but she said it had blood vessels and she was concerned. I’m absolutely devastated as I’ve worked so hard and remained so positive through everything and can’t believe this could all be starting again. She took pictures to look at with my surgeon and I’m going back in 8 weeks to review as she doesn’t want to risk taking biopsies or potentially removing it in case it damages baby. Just wondering if anyone had any experience of recurrence or similar situation? I’m trying to be positive but I’m struggling xx
Hi DCLYNCJ,
Really sorry to hear about your experience. I don't have a similar experience but I do know that this forum is really quiet. Have you tried Jo's Cervical Cancer Trust Forum too?
Also you can ring the macmillan helpline or Jo's Trust helpline to talk to someone who has been trained and may be able to offer you more of an insight.
Do you still have an assigned gynae macmillan nurse you can speak to too?
Sending you love.
