Hi, new diagnosis, no pain, no symptoms, just found randomly through routine blood test and subsequent ultrasound. Now on hormone treatment and bone injections. Was told 6-12 months if didn’t take any treatment. Bit of a shock. But can’t get a handle on prognosis if I am taking meds. Any advice?
Hi, I’m so sorry that you’re in our club. You will be in shock and it will take time to come to come to terms with your diagnosis. I’m shocked that they have told you 6-12 months. Where is the secondary BC and have you had a ct scan/mri or biopsy yet? Mine was also found by accident in my liver on an ultrasound as I had an infection (not related). It took 5 weeks to diagnose me and as I asked the question about prognosis , they told me 2 years with no treatment and 2-5 years with treatment but I don’t ask any more as they don’t know! Some people have been living years and years , some sadly not but new treatments are coming out all the time so I try to be hopeful. I am stable 27 months post diagnosis and still on first line treatment. It’s been a roller coaster but I’m still here trying to enjoy life the best I can! Please let us know how you get on. There’s lots of support on this forum. Sending lots of hugs xx
Thankyou for replying. Apparantly bone meta in ‘whole skeleton’ not in organs yet. I have decided to be positive and give myself at least 10 years!!
good luck to you
Glad you’re staying positive! It’s good news that it hasn’t reached your organs. I try and just take it scan by scan now as for me that’s the best way to deal with it Good luck with your treatment xx
