Hi... I'm secondary breast cancer in bones and liver. I'm stable at moment after 45 weekly paclitaxel. However I'm having a short chemo break after last CT shows I'm stable. However I'm now suffering with awful nausea and sore tummy. Anyone else had this in a similar situation when treatment paused? Is it ok to continue with anti sickness tablets whilst not on chemo?
Hi Martygirl
I am sorry to hear that you are having some nausea after your paclitaxel chemo.
I had paclitaxel as part of my chemo in 2022 and I did find that the nausea lingered. I was told that it was fine to continue taking both ondansetron and domperidone when I needed it. My chemo was followed by radiotherapy and during this time I had my medication reviewed regularly. I would suggest that you contact your CNS or GP and confirm which anti nausea meds would be best and whether it is ok in your circumstances to take it.
I found smaller meals helped and eating my main meal earlier in the day made a difference. Also flat lemonade and thin ginger biscuits. I was also told to take the meds 30 minutes before meals as they would work better for me that way.
Hope this helps, I found the nausea hard to take at times. Hope yours begins to settle.
Jane
