I have to decide whether to accept the recommendation of my oncologist to change from Letrozole to Abemamciclib and Fulvestrant injections or move to Tamoxifen but he tells me the efficacy of Tamoxifen is less. I have to way up the side effects against quality of life. A difficult decision when you have terminal metastasised breast cancer. If I thought the side effects of Letrozole were bad I have a heap more which ever I choose. Can anyone share their experience?

Hello Sapphire, I am having Fulvestrant injections once monthly now and also Ribociclib tablets of which l take 2 daily, not the same as you l know, l had bloods taken Thursday only to be told l couldn't resume taking tablets this week as my blood count is low once again. I feel absolutely fine, its so annoying. I wish you well whatever you decide to do.
Hello Curkyp. Thanks for reply. How long have you been on this regime? Was it your platelets that were low? Are you able to continue with the Fulvestrant? Are you at risk of infection and hence admission to hospital with Ribociclib? Thanks Sapphire51
I have been on both since May, 2024, yes the platelets were low and yes l still have the injections monthly no matter what. I have to be careful about catching a cold or cutting myself as the immune system is low due to the treatment, but, to be honest l feel fine the only thing that really affected me was catching Covid over Xmas which knocked me for six and took weeks to go away. Take care
