Hi first post and I don't know if this is covered anywhere else. I'm on Letrozole, Palbociclib and Leuprorelin injection. Secondary breast cancer stage four in my bones. Fortunately last scan showed no spread, no change However I get serious moods as my long suffering husband would attest to. I suspect having Asperger's and other mental health issues certainly are a contributing factor and are exasperated by the medications.
Just thought I'd say hello and admit to being very moody, I really hate that some days I just cry and cry and then cry some more. I hate been an emotional wreck and obviously don't like being this way.
Anyone else on similar meds?
Hi Glittery,
Just wanted to reply as nobody else has yet. My wife was just diagnosed as stage 4 (lesions in 4 spinal vertebrae) and is awaiting a bone biopsy and then a treatment plan. I'm surprised you aren't on any meds for the bone specifically (Bisphosphonates) which help to keep them strong, and rebuild the damage done by the cancer.
My wife is strangely calm about everything, it's me that's the mess! I have Asperger's too and really dislike change.
Anyway, just reading your profile has given me hope, dx 2017 and still posting on here!
I'm trying to focus on the fact that new treatments are coming out all the time, and the longer you can make it, the greater the chance that there will be a breakthrough.
Sometimes I think that our bodies just need a good old cry to release all the pent up feelings. Your not an emotional wreck, you're having a perfectly normal reaction to a very shitty situation. It might be worth talking to your GP, as there maybe be medications that might help you feel a bit better.
What river do you have your boat on? We're luckily enough to live near the Thames and have a little trailer-sailor. I find being on the river so soothing - I just wish the weather would work with me!
All the best,
Andy
Hi Andy, sorry to hear about your wife. I can really relate to disliking change. My husband did a lot of research relating to diet and cancer, I think he found doing so helpful. The doctors have consistently offered me bisphosphates I've chosen not to have such.
We're on the boat in the Midlands, husband loves the boat, it has a classic engine We've had quite a few thunderstorms recently.
