Hi I've been having denosumab injections for over 3 years now. 2 out of 3 months my gp practice give me this and once every 3 months oncology give me it after bloods and I also pick up my next 3 months supply of Ibrance. Oncology are now trying to get me to get denosumab on prescription, collect this and inject my self at home. I have told them I'm not prepared to do this and want them To continue. They said its all about money in that it's cheaper for me to get it on prescription than for them to get it on for me. However, I am still adamant that I'm not going to do this myself.
Just wondering has anyone else been put in this position.
Thanks
Hi Levens
It must be very distressing to be told by your hospital team that you must now administer your injections yourself.

I have Christie nurses who come each month to give me fullestrant and dunesomab every 3rdmonth. I was originally having tbisdone at oncology appointment but it took a lot of time as clinic was always busy. I also felt oncologist didnt really want to see methat often and so it was referred to the nursing team who are good and usually ontime and very nice. Xx
hi im on the same injection I get it every 6 weeks which coincidences with my phesgo injection that I get every 3 weeks all at oncology, I wouldn’t be happy if they told me I had to do it, I wouldn’t feel confident to do it right and I think we’ve already got a lot going on so to be told you have to do that now is just too much in my opinion aswell, think I’d stand my ground and refuse .. hope you get sorted
