Reaction to Spikevax Covid vaccination

I have stage 4 breast cancer in my lungs and spine, Doing well taking Palbociclib with letrozole, monthly denosumab. I had the Moderna Spikevax last week and I think it triggered a stomach upset which went on all week. This was my third Moderna and I have had unpleasant reactions each time but this was the worst. Has anyone else had a similar experience? I am not sure that I want to have another one.

  • Hi MaCa
I also had the Moderna Covid vaccine (plus a flu jab) last Thursday. I've not had any obvious reaction to it until (possibly) yesterday/today (4-5 days after the jab) when I've had a dodgy stomach. It's not been too bad, just slightly loose and more frequent.
I'm in week 3 of chemo (ie should be my 'good' week) but they've just told me my white cells are low so I need extra Filgrastim jabs to boost my resistance. I assumed the stomach upset might be due to an infection (though my temperature is OK), but perhaps its related to the Covid jab.
What were your symptoms and how soon did they occur ?

  • Hello scared_to

The  loose bowels started about 36 hours after the vaccination. No temperature or sickness.  Every time I ate something I got cramps and rushed to the loo and this lasted until I stayed off food altogether for 2 days.
