Hi all. I start hormone therapy on Tuesday with bone treatment too for spread of breast cancer to the spine. I was advised to get a particular toothpaste during the bone treatment but I can’t remember the name of it?!?!? Can anybody help please? Thanks for reading xx
Hi Newbie19,
I never heard of using a special toothpaste. I did some googling that the advice seems to be to use a flouride toothpaste and mouthwash. https://www.sdcep.org.uk/media/m0ko0gng/sdcep-oral-health-management-of-patients-at-risk-of-mronj-guidance-full.pdf
Have you had a dental check up? Ideally you should, and have any necessary treatment before commencing treatment with the bone drug.
Cheers,
Andy
I’ve got one booked, thanks for that though. The consultant said I’ll tell you about a special toothpaste you need to use but that was just after telling me I had mets so stupid brain only took in the first bit!!!!
Could it be Colgate Duraphat 5000? This looks like a prescription only toothpaste that good for preventing dental issues.
I get Duraphat from my dentist every three months. It is a prescription only flouride toothpaste and not cheap (I have to use a private dentist
