Hi everyone
In 2015 had stage 3 estrogen positive breast cancer. Mastectomy, chemo Fec-T and radio with great success.
Last august I started getting pain in my shoulder. At first i was told it was a frozen shoulder and referred to physio. Looking at my history he referred me for xrays and long story short the outcome was metastic bc. All other scans showed no cancer in organs but a small amount of disease in my pelvis. I had a total shoulder replacement in Feb 2022. The biopsy from this showed that there were no estrogen receptors and my cancer was now her2 positive.
I had my first chemo (abraxane) along with phesgo 2 days ago and although i know this ia not curable I'm optimistic i have a good amount of time left.
Is there anyone with a similar diagnosis to me that would be happy to let me know how they're getting on.
I'm 53, with 6 children (3 still at home) and like all of us on this sight, really want the best from our lives.
Warmest wishes to you all x
Hi @Morwenna sorry to hear that the cancer has returned. I am not going through similar to you but as nobody has responded to you I wanted to bump your post back up where somebody going through similar might see it this time. You can also try posting on the main breast cancer forum as that is much busier and might have someone going through similar on there. CLICK HERE
Wishing you all the best with your treatment.
Hi Morwenna, my daughter who is 55 is going through similar. She had breast cancer 23 years ago and now has secondary breast cancer. It started in her arm and shoulder, told it was carpal tunnel and then trapped nerve. She has just finished chemo and radiotherapy. Will show her your post.
Hi I had breast cancer 15 years ago and 2 years ago diagnosed with cancer in sternum pelvis and spine . I completed 6 rounds of docatexel chemo last May with phesgo and denenusumbab injections- these injections are ongoing as long as working . At moment ct scans have been stable and no further spread. I have no side effects to treatment and apart from damage caused to my vertebrae prior to diagnosis- I carry on as normal- I am retired have 4 grandchildren and like to be active !
Take care and hope this helps x
