Hi, I had breast cancer in 1999 treated by lumpectomy, axiallary node clearance and radiotherapy. I thought I had made an excellent recovery. I have had a sore foot for 4 years which was originally diagnosed as arthritis in my cuboid bone. I had an MRI and they found a tumour. A subsequent biopsy shows it is a metasticised malignancy and the cell type shows it is from breast cancer. Jam in shock and currently waiting for my referral to oncology.
So sorry to hear that I imagine it's what we all fear. I get paranoid about every ache and pain and your experience reminds me that I am right to do so. I hope all goes well with your treatment plan for this.
I had breast cancer 20 years ago, was treated and thought great I am cured. However, this year I was suffering from back pain and eventually was diagnosed with lesions in the spine and the sternum! Nasty shock but I am now on tablets and infusions and my last CT scan showed the treatment is working. I keep reading that there are many different treatments available and if one does not work another will be tried. Hope your treatment goes well. Hugs to you Suexxx
I am sorry that this has happened to you as well Sue but your post is actually reassuring that there are treatments available. I have been referred now to the local breast cancer team so hope to hear from them soon. Covid and Christmas make every thing a bit uncertain at the moment. How did they diagnose your lesions and did they look for any other primaries? xx
I also had breast cancer 22 years ago and was sure after all that time, that I was fine. But I now have metastasis in my lungs, pleura and bones. It was such a shock! I was on Palbocuclib for 7 months, but it didnt really work, so am now on Capecitabine and hoping to get some results. Good luck with your treamtent!
Its all a bit of a blur now! I had scans and the were able to tell me that the cancer had not spread to any other organs. The cancer was the same as the original breast cancer. Lobular which apparently makes it easier to treat! However it is a worry. Next scan will be in February so hope the medication is working.
