Hair loss

I have had 6 sessions of docatexel and trastumumab and Pertuzumbab used cool cap through sessions with docatexel. It is 6 weeks since my last docatexel infusion and my hair is still coming out ! I don’t have any bald patches but hair is getting very thin ! Just wondering if anyone else experienced this with this drug combination- I was told that the continuation of trastumumab and pertuzumbab would not cause hair loss - can’t wait for hair to grow !

  • Hi

I noticed that your post hadn't had any replies yet so I've had a look in the group to see who else is on trastuzumab and pertuzumab and found that and had both mentioned being on this drug. I've 'tagged' them into my reply to you in the hope that they'll pop on and tell you if they've experienced hair loss.

  • Hi, I've only had one cycle, decided against using the cold cap, but am losing hair fairly quickly now. Like you Winship I thought once Docatexal stopped the hair would start growing. I wonder if there are any hairdressers on the forum that would know?

  • Hi - how are you feeling? Hope side effects have not been too bad for you. Just having the injection makes a big difference- no side effects at all ! Apart from hair still falling out! Yes possibly a hair dresser may know

  • Hi Winship

I have had 3 docetaxel infusions so far and didn't use the cold cap, don't have much hair left now.  When I previously had docetaxel 6 years ago, my hair did start to grow back once I had finished the 6 cycles.  At that time I was also on letrozol (trastuzumab) which continued for a year after chemo and it didn't affect my hair growth.  Not sure whether both drugs together would have an effect on hair growth.  Sorry I cannot be of more help.  Take care xx
