Hi all.

Strange subject I know, but I’m suffering from hand and finger stiffness probably caused by my letrozole and/or zoladex treatment for secondary male breast cancer. My oncologist commented in passing that olive oil can help. So I’m intrigued. Does anyone use this?  What’s the science behind I t? Does it work? And how is it applied? Or do you drink it? After all, I can’t go around all day with greasy hands, I’ll have dogs following me in the street Joy

Keep smiling.

Cheers

Ian

  • Hi Ian,  did they mean to eat it or moisturise with it? Olive oil does have medicinal properties - on the long covid forum I'm on people use it to  trigger autophagy. It's anti inflammatory and meant to help with arthritis,  do could help with general joint pain too.

Is a good moisturiser as well by the way!

    Hi Ian

I have been on letrozole....palbociclib and zoladex since last July 2020 and started getting really sore joints I now take seven seas supplements and theyve made a huge difference...I am also going to try different brands of the letrozole and see if that helps...not sure about the olive oil but hey anything is worth a try ...

    goodluck

Eat or moisturise? I’m not sure. Just couldn’t bear greasy hands. Can you imagine the mess! Joy
I will ask her to clarify at my next ‘check in’ and respond.
    Cheers.

Thanks Nik67. Can I ask which supplements? PS... I’ve been on same drugs as you for nearly 2 years. Latest CT scan showed my tumours were no longer visible, so the treatment is positive. Kinda makes the aches n pains irrelevant.
    Cheers

Hi Ian ..thats really great news about your scan and that your two years in and well...it would be even better if the aches and pains would go too as a wee bonus..

seven seas jointcare supplex 30 capsules..theres a huge range these ones were around £5.50...some supermarkets were doing a ‘cheapest one free’ so always good to get a bargain if you can..my friend tried them too and noticed a difference after a couple of days ...maybe worth a try..

    Good luck
