Hello,

Anyone had the AZ vaccine yet?  If yes, how were you for the first couple of weeks?  I am due mine next week so interested to hear others experience.

I  am posting this question in other groups for hope of a reply.  Sorry if you have read it before

  • I had it two weeks ago. For me the side effects didn’t kick in until the evening. Not to scare you but my side effects were pretty bad and lasted five days, however I am very glad I was offered the vaccine and would do it again in a heartbeat.

    1. I had my vaccine on Wednesday. Felt a bit shivery and achy during the night and a bit jaded on Thursday, then fine today (Friday). A friend of mine had a similar experience. Hope yours goes ok.
  • I had mine on the 6th Feb, the following day I developed a bit of a cold, made me feel a little crappy  but cleared within a few days, not sure if it's related or not. I wouldn't hesitate though  I would do it again.

    • I had mine yesterday and felt really bad, shivery, had a good sleep and I was fine this morning, apart from achy arm,  I heard from some-one else that their doctor had said take paracetamol the day before.  I didn’t get a chance as the surgery rang me to say that a nurse was coming to my home to do it.  10 mins later she was here.   Like the other person who replied, I would do it , no matter what the side effects.   I also asked that my partner be vaccinated at the same time and he was.
  • Hi I got my first az vaccine yesterday and woke at 4am aches and pains and feeling nauseous. I stayed in bed until after 1pm today which isn't like me. My mum's the same she had hers yesterday too and had a bad night. I'm not feeling too bad now have taken solpadeine and anti sickness. Hope this helps xx

Pleased your partner received the vaccine. I asked that but they said he would have to wait his turn. What great service you received too.

Yes it helps, thank you. I would rather know how others are managing than experience side effects and be worried.

Hi Diane.  I had first dose of AZ on 28th Jan.  I had a headache the following morning, and slightly sore arm, but no other side effects.  It seems to vary a lot from person to person.  Definitely worth it though! Good luck with yours
