Hi
I was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer in October 2018 and had a lumpectomy to remove the tumour plus a breast reduction and lift. I also had 4 out of 19 nodes removed. I was told i was cancer free and my treatment plan was to consist of 6 chemotherapy and between 15 and 25 radiotherapy. Last week I got the result of my ct scan which was taken almost 3 months ago and this shows a spot on my left rib. I have to have another ct after chemo to confirm whether this is a secondary but they are worried about it.
I am beside myself with worry, petrified of dying and feel so down. The chemo is taking its toll now and my body aches and i have put so much weight on. I wondered if anyone else has been in the same situation as me and could offer me any advice please?
Hi - I was diagnosed with secondaries in my spine and have 3 'spots' on different vertabrea I felt exactly the same as you initially and thought I was going to die soon. However, that was 6 years ago and my disease is stable at the moment. I am on Anastrazole and Alendronic Acid and although there are annoying side effects I am still here and hope to be for some time yet.. Secondaries are not curable but totally treatable and you could live a good life for many years. I hope this helps a bit and I am sure there are lots of others on here in this position who will also reply to you.
