Hi everyone
I am having sentinel lymph node biopsy in my armpit this week before my mastectomy with reconstruction. I have been told nothing about recovery. Can anyone give any insight? Can I drive the next day and return to work?
Hi Emollie
I had a sentinel node biopsy at the same time as a wide area excision, both done from the same incision. I was told not to drive for 48 hours. If you have a general anaesthetic there’s always a period when you can’t drive. Obviously this was a bigger operation than if it had just been the SLNB but I was up and about doing normal activities the following day. I would have been fine to work.
