Hi all,
I am new here - feeling very scared.
I found a lump in my left breast last week and went to the consultant today. He examined me and he thought it was a cyst. I was sent for a mammogram and ultrasound, which I was told by the radiologist were normal. I then went back to see the consultant who said he didn't agree with the results as there was still a lump (I am assuming a cyst wasn't picked up as the cause on the scans) and that I needed to have a biopsy. He said he thinks that the lump is a lipoma as the scans looks like normal fatty breast tissue. He has said it is highly unlikely to be anything sinister - one of the reasons he gave was because when he did the biopsy, the needle went in to the lump very easily with no resistance. However I am out of my mind with worry that he couldn't tell me it wasn't cancer.
Is it normal for there to be disagreement between specialists and has anyone been through something similar? I am terrified and very anxious about getting the biopsy results.
Thanks for listening/reading. x
