Hi
I posted on here a few months ago when I started on Anastrozole in March time. I don’t know if it was related but I had really uncomfortable leg and glute aches which did subside around June/July time & wasn’t as bad. Since Aug they have come back and so uncomfortable really getting me down seems even more uncomfortable and been upset so many times not being able to get comfy. Ice packs seem to help a bit but can’t sit with ice packs for rest of my life surely!!!
I am unsure if it’s related as also been having palpitations which identified low eptopics after 24hr ecg but pushed for an echo to make sure nothing underlying which is next week (had to go private as told months for NHS Waiting list!) their just seems to be 1 thing after another!!! :-( being a nurse probably doesn’t help and im also worrying if it’s something heart related/ circulatory or vascular
I have my follow up after surgery with breast surgeon next week so not sure what to do? She has suggested an MRI to check lumbar for reassurance and check no disc impingement but I haven’t had any lower back pain!! Not sure what to do?? To change meds or carry on. Has anyone swapped treatment with success? Any advice or if anyone can relate would be so much appreciated
I was stage 1 had lumpectomy and radio and informed low risk finished radio in April.
Just want to feel normal again
Hello, oh can relate to the glutes aching. I have been on Anastrazole for over 3 years and am an avid cyclist too. I used to take my Anastrazole in the morning and go for a ride around noon. My thighs ached so much that I felt like I had a build up of lactic acid. Not enjoyable. I then changed the time to dinner time to take my pill and much better. I still have glutes and hip aches but manageable and my bike rides are good. I stretch every morning and that helps too. I also had lumpectomy both breasts DCIS in one snd stage 1 in the other. Radiation and then hormone blockers. I am a nurse too so w just want to feel great. A great YouTube show is menopause and cancer with Dani binnington. She is from UK and great information. I live in hot snd humid Florida so ready for cooler weather too.
Hope aches and pains subside.
Barbara
Hi I had a stage 3 cancer, lumpectomy , chemo then radiotherapy last year. I’m 1 year on Anastrozole and need to take it for the next 10yrs. The aches in all my joints is much worse if I haven’t exercised; I take a yoga class most days (I’m lucky as I retired a couple of mths ago) this is my lifesaver ! I also find taking the tablet early evening has improved my ability to be active in the daytime. It takes me a short while to straighten up after being seated or relaxed on the couch in the evenings. I’m just getting used to it & feeling lucky to be alive . I am due to attend a course for coping with joint pain in the coming weeks, hope this also help .
wishing you well and hope this helps you .
