Hi all..I had my lumpectomy last Wednesday it was much better than I thought, first two days tired and sore but since then I've felt fine., just tad sore due to bruising...I'm a housekeeper and I was given a sick note for 4 weeks .. I feel like I'm ready to go back to work ( light duties) but my partner is adamant it's a NO ..I'm just so bored and frustrated..
get my results next Tuesday
Don't rush it as could cause a set back, I had 3 weeks off (I work in a care home doing activities!)
I think that being a housekeeper can be a bit much even light duty. I know that you are getting antsy to return but healing is important and don’t want to have a setback. I think that getting outside and going for walks and doing some light stretching and exercising will make you feel good.

Hi, I was advised to book 6 weeks off work. I arranged for 5 and eventually took 3 off sick and 2 on vacation, which was a big plus in terms of being ready to return. I worked all through chemo and I know I could have gone back earlier after surgery but I am convinced taking the time really did help me heal, physically and mentally. Best wishes
