I had my fifth dose of PC today and started with really bad stomach cramps around 8.30pm
Initially I had hard stools, took paracetamol and the cramps subsided a bit. Then had bad cramps again just now and explosive diarrhoea?!?! Within a few hours?!
Has anyone else had this? How did you manage? I rang the hotline to report and ask if should take loperamide but they advised against unless I have more due to previous constipation. Just advised drink fluids.
i feel like im getting different and more symptoms as the chemo progresses and its stressing me out. I have another 7 weekly doses of this then switch to EC and I’ve heard that’s even worse?!
Sorry I keep coming on here questioning everything but my anxiety is in overdrive with it all!
xx
I have recently been diagnosed with a cancer, due to lack of knowledge of terms and abbreviations what is PC? Sorry it doesn't help provide you an answer but I'm trying to locate answers to new terms etc.
If you could help in this is matter it would be appreciated. Even more so I do hope someone can offer you help, and I hope you do feel better soon.
Hi Kiwi79
Sorry to hear that you are struggling with side effects from your chemo drugs. I suggest that you ring your chemo nurse to discuss your concerns about the number of side effects you are having and that it's stressing you out and they might reduce your dose.
Hope you feel better soon.
Best wishes

Hi Daisy53,
Thanks for your advice.
Can I ask: did you have EC as part of your plan and how did you find it? I know we are all different but just to get an idea of other people’s experience. I worry as I have had reactions to paclitaxil (so I am now on Nab-Paclitaxol) and also the immunotherapy Pembro. I worry I will have reactions to EC and bad side effects and this causes me anxiety. Even though I know it is what it is and I will need treatment regardless.

Hi
I am sorry it is giving you a rough time.
I am not having the same side effects as you but just wanted to share I too seem to have problems with EC (weekly). I am on session 7 and now the evenings of my chemo days I spike a fever and high tempreture with vomiting and a rash and get admitted to hospital. I have an appointment with my consultant to see what they can do to ease my side effects. I have my fingers crossed more can be done to help.
But I just wanted to say your not alone and I too find it creates anxiety all the not knowing what's next. I too switch to EC and dread it for the same reasons.
I’m also going through this right now and I have to be honest I’m not doing good with it. I asked at 3rd treatment and they gave me loperimide to bring home and take. I’m reluctant to take too many in case I get constipated which for me is far more painful than the cramps. I’m on a lot of meds for pain too which isn’t helping things. I really sympathise with you there’s no happy medium with it is there. Maybe ask again next treatment see what they say I hope you feel better soon Kiwi79 xx
