Had my first round today of paclitaxel and phesgo.

The worst part of the drip was getting the cannula into my hand. Unfortunately im still waiting for appointment for my PICC line. The rest of the infusion was no problem. First part was piriton and steroids then 30 min flush followed by the paclitaxel, followed by another 20 mins flush

During this i was offered sandwiches for lunch and cups if tea or coffee by staff and volunteers which was lovely.

The jab, however, was a whole different ball game. I didnt expect it to be so big nor so painful. Anytime she tried to go bit faster it was agony, so glad dont have to have that every week.

I had a consultation with the hairdresser/wig maker the unit has in house. Its great we can order wigs to try and return them if they dont suit. I think ive settled on colour and style but we will see.  He was so helpful in making suggestions that he felt were right for my skin tone and personality.

Anyway thats my first session. Im home, very sleepy and have a banging headache and we will see what other side effects i get

  • Hi

I start Paclitaxel on the 5th.i just wondered what the jab was for? Is the antihistamine and steroid part of it?

    How you are feeling?

I got my wig last week and it was the best experience ever. I went for a pink bob, just to be different

    Take care

  • Phesgo is given as an injection. It is treating the Her2 side of my cancer.

I did consider a crazy coloured wig but most if my family would expect that so im going to shock them by not doing it. I may well buy a cheap one for fun.

  • Oh and feeling exhausted. The antihistamine and steroid was given via the drip.
