Hi
I had a lumpectomy 8 weeks ago healing has been good however over the last few days my breast has been getting painful especially when I take off my bra I can’t let it go I have to hold onto my breast as the pain intensifies when I let it go. Under my armpit and down the left side of my left breast is very sore to touch is this normal.
Hi Carron01 welcome to the forum. Im imagining that you have been wearing the bra since surgery and it may be that gravity is causing the pain..The other thing is you will have had lots of internal bruising and swelling which is painful.Does it feel hot to touch or any swelling at all? Either way, I think it is worth giving the breast nurse a call and seeing what they think. This will also offer much needed reassurance so pick up that phone and give them a call to get checked out. Best wishes for now..
Hi Carron01,
It may be best to call your nurse. I had my lumpectomy and sentinel biopsy 3 weeks ago and my armpit and a part of my arm are still a little sore. I have a big clot in my breast where the lump used to be. I remember that my breast was occassionally sore too. However, have been wearing my bra 24/7 for 3 weeks now and I have 3 more weeks to go. Also, I am very vigilant with the recommended exercises and I stop any activity and rest when my armpit feels sore. I hope this helps.
