Hi been on Letrozole just over 1 year my bones are sore hair falling out, can I take any supplements I’m on Vitamin C just now
Hi Cambuslang
Have you talked to your doctor or treatment team about your issues? It may be that they could offer alternatives.
With my wife she found some brands were better than others and that seems fairly common as there have been quite a number of discussions on here about that.

Thank you the brand I’m on had been great for last 8 month but now seems diffrent
Hi You could ask to try exemestane. I changed from letrozole to exemestane. Far from perfect but an improvement on letrozole. They are both aromatase inhibitors if you haven't been prescribed calci D ask your GP or oncologist for this. If you haven't had a a dexa bone scan ask about this too. X
Thank you I’m on waiting list for bone scan been waiting 18 month
Hi! I've been on Letrozole for some time as well and can definitely relate to the side effects you're experiencing, like sore bones and hair loss. The main thing is to use only high-quality Letrozole from reliable pharmacies, then you can be sure of a positive result. What helped me was adding supplements like Vitamin D and calcium for bone health, as Letrozole can sometimes affect bone density. I also started taking biotin and zinc, which seemed to help with hair thinning. It's always a good idea to check with your doctor before adding anything new to make sure it’s safe for your situation, but these supplements made a noticeable difference for me. Stay strong—you’re not alone!
Hi Cambuslang
I started on letrozole early this month alongside ribociclib (targeted therapy tablets) & was told I’d need a bishosphate to stop bones thinning, as letrozole can do that, & to protect against cancer spreading there. It seems all ladies on aromatase inhibitors like letrozole should be offered an bisphosphonate alongside vitamin D of 3000IU, which also helps bones.
I’m due to have my first 6 monthly infusion next week of zoledronic acid (a bisphosphonate) that I’m going to have for at least 3 years.
It may be worth you checking whether you can have a bisphosphonate either tablet form or intravenously. Also I’d look into taking a vitamin D tablet as well.
All the best
