hi

I’m getting pain in my right breast and rib under my breast, a lot of numbness and hot to touch skin

can anyone relate please?
thanks

  • Hi

I get pain in my breast after my treatment (for instance if I roll over onto my front at night, it hurts).  I am 7 years post diagnosis.  Doesn't worry me too much.

However, I would contact your doctor about this because if the skin is hot to the touch, this might be an infection of some sort, even completely unrelated to your BC.  You've obviously finished with your BC nurse, so definitely the doctors is your next step.

Hope it turns out to be nothing!

  • Hi Lesley,

im so sorry for the late reply.
Things have been upside down, I finally got in to the breast care clinic after the drs kept fobbing me off, I have lymphoedema- it’s painful, I feel sore and my shoulder is affected.

I just found out my younger sister also has breast cancer, she’s had a MRI and confirmed - she will see the same consultant as me.
I can’t help but blame myself like it’s my fault - everything is on top of me at the moment.

    thank you for listening. X

  • Hi, I know you know this, but breast cancer and lymphoedema is no-one's fault, but I get that you can feel that somehow it is and you have a lot going on right now.

Have you thought about giving the lovely folks here at MacMillan a call. They are great listeners when things are feeling a bit much and can give good advice.  You can call the, on 0800 808 0000.

i have breast lymphoedema and was recommended drainage massage techniques. It would be worth asking about this as it can help to ease it.  This booklet might also be useful. Lymphoedema Booklet Link

Finally, I hope your sister is doing ok.   Best wishes
