Been on it for two weeks. Slightly tetchy (like menopausal crossness!) but wondering how long before other side effects kick in if they are going to?!
I have been on Letrozole for eleven months. I have experienced nothing of note except a bit of knee stiffness and occasionally mild pain, but to be honest this was already beginning before I commenced the Letrozole. I am 72 this month, so probably expecting some wear and tear, I stick to one brand. My initial prescription was Accord and as I had no side effects I have insisted on this brand. I eat between seven and nine portions of fruit and veg every day. (I keep a food diary). My BMI is 26 so a bit over. I aim for 6000 steps a day (varies quite a bit). I don't smoke and haven't drunk any alcohol for years. I take a Vitamin D supplement daily, but nothing else. I don't take calcium. I am not on any other medication (fingers crossed). I'm not sure if this helpful or not. Sending love best wishes to you all. xx
Hi all, I’ve been on Letrozole for aprox 22month. The only side effects I’ve experienced, are, on and off chronic fatigue and a painful knee joint, the latter could be normal wear and tear. As mentioned previously try sticking to one brand. I stay with my original brand (accord).
I also have 6 monthly zoledronic acid infusions, to help strengthen the bones,(no side effects). I also take a high strength vitamin D supplement, calcium, magnesium and a multi vitamin. I purchase the best supplements, organic with no “nasties”.
I had a lobectomy for lung cancer 6 year ago (left lower lobe). Breast cancer was diagnosed in June 2023 and I underwent a lumpectomy and the sentinel lymph node was removed. I try not to overthink and I hope that I’m doing something right. I’m on edge after each scan, in my case six monthly. The latest scan is quite worrying!
I see the consultant in a weeks time, so hopefully (fingers crossed), all will be well
I try to stay optimistic.
I hope this helps and I wish you all a full and speedy recovery. xxx
