Morning I just wondered if anyone has ever had a similar experience. I have been under a gastro consultant who sent me for a CT scan with contrast. I had this on a Friday and Monday he was ringing me to tell me they had found the 11mm nodule on my left breast and was referring me to a breast specialist on 2ww.
he was really odd on the phone so I didnt get any other info.
when I get my breast appointment what will they do if they have the CT report will I have a mammogram?
I can’t feel anything but when I lie on my front I do feel like a sharp pain like an electric shock.
I’m so sorry if I’m rambling the consultant rang me as I was leaving to go on holiday to Greece I am due home today I’ve tried not to think about it I just want this appointment over .
Thank you
Hi, sorry you find yourself in this situation. Obviously I don’t know what will happen but in my area, Buckinghamshire, where we have a ‘one stop’ clinic they would, mammogram you, ultrasound and then biopsy. It maybe because you’ve had a CT you may not need the scans though. Incidentally, after I was diagnosed with breast cancer (I found a lump rather than screening) they also found a cyst on my kidney at a subsequent CT, it was deemed fine to leave and not threatening so hopefully you have the same experience. All the best x
very common I think to find random cysts on Ct scan for gastro stuff. They did with me and have asked me to leave it alone. They’ll scan again in 6 months
as for the breast try not to worry (ha ha) the waiting us the worst. 11mm is small and manageable.let us know how you get on
Hi Absiz , I haven’t been in your situation and haven’t actually ever had a CT scan but have had many referrals to breast clinics over the years. Most of my lumps and bumps weren’t cancer but all needed investigating. My most recent referral did turn out to be cancer. I’d felt thickening in my left breast so GP referred me. Like Anna12345 has said, I had mammogram, ultrasound and biopsy then saw the doctor (who’d also examined me before the mammogram) who confirmed that it looked like cancer.
Sorry you find yourself here, good luck with your appointment and let us know how it goes. Love and hugs, HFxx
