Hi everyone I'm freaking out a bit as I have follow up appointment with the surgeon on Friday to discuss further treatment - the nurse said my ony score was low for chemo (6) and that I would prob have radiotherapy but I'm worried as it was in my 1st lymph nodes taken out but I took risk wouldn't be in any others so didn't have rest taken out. Do we really get a choice or are we just told what is gonna happen? Is anyone in same boat? Starting to get panic attacks the nearer it gets
Hi Smallpooh welcome to the forum and I am sorry to hear how worried that you are. Both Radiotherapy and Chemo can be used in an individual person as part of their treatment plan. Most of these decisions are made by the Team who look after us and they decide which is best ,or both, based on the best available evidence for our types of Breast Cancer. It might be worth writing down any questions or concerns that you have for the appointment on Friday as we are often so worked up in the actual appointment we often forget to ask our questions hence it helps to have it written down. What are your thoughts about Radiotherapy and Chemo?
