I am considering having a reconstruction using tissue from my back . Does anyone have experience of this type of reconstruction, results recovery time etc xx
You will have a long time to make your decision - I’ve been waiting almost 2 years and never seem to move up the waiting list. I’ve waited so long my cancer has returned so I’ve no idea whether it’s a viable option now.. or even if I can be bothered now…
I was going to have DIEP due to being told the back operation weakens the shoulder and arm. Piano is my thing so that wasn’t acceptable to me.
best wishes, it might all be worth it if you’ve got a half decent prognosis.
