Hi,
did anyone take docetexal? Are side effects delayed? With EC I was bed ridden for 3 days but I had docetexal yesterday and I was fine… just wondering if side effects are delayed
I’m starting to feel better , I was told to take paracetamol and that these pains are to be expected… but I think I’m on the mend now…. I think they only make adjustments to your chemo plan if side effects are absolutely unbearable . Otherwise they accept the risk of nerve damage
must admit i feel more tired on paclitaxel (similar) than i did on previous chemo, i find the aches make me want ti lie down more. i go to bed much earlier and read, like 6 pm because sitting up just kinda aches.
ask for better pain killers and be sure to mention nerve pains and if they are bad, they can prescribe meds to help.
Joules52 maybe try plain yoghurt, i found my tastebuds were muted on taxol, but i think i had an overgrowth of bacteria on tongue as it was very pale. so i have small bowl of yoghrt w manuka honey every other day, taste buds seem better
I had delayed side effects with docetaxel. First 2-3 days I felt OK, and then they hit me! I also found they lasted longer and new side effects appeared. Whereas with EC, I felt rubbish from Day 1 until abut day 4 and gradually got better.
