Had my infusion yesterday and feeling/coping with the side effects. Obv I have a temperature/fever but how high is too high? It was 39.3 earlier I’m taking paracetamol which has brought it down for now to mid 38s. reluctant to call my treatment line cause I feel they just use a pc package to ask questions and as soon as “tick” the o er 37.5 temp your jyy it at automatically sent to a&e. getting plenty of rest, drinking loads of fluids on the beam time. tganks
I was the same with my first infusion, my temp waz 39.5 for 24 hours, took paracetamol, like yourself didn't want to be admitted!
Hopefully you will see it come down after around 24 hours, if not, may be worth getting it checked
Hope you start to feel better soon, it's horrible
Best wishes x
Hi Trixter, I would call the emergency line! A temp over 37.5 can be the start of something serious like sepsis. Whilst it could be a reaction to the treatment it’s worth getting it checked. Yes they have a series of questions they have to ask and check boxes but they are doing this to ensure they have all possible info before making a decision as to whether you should go to A&E. I had temp issues 3 times after treatment. Each time I got it checked and luckily it wasn’t anything serious but I still had antibiotics just incase. They didn’t want to take any chances.
Wishing you all the best.

So agree with Cuffcake.
Don’t ignore that temperature. I had a raised temperature after my first chemo, had to be admitted for a week. My white count was so low trying to fight the infection I had.
I didn’t want to be in hospital but thank goodness I was.
xx
Hi Trixter how are you feeling now? Hope it was only a short reaction to the infusion and that you're feeling better. Best wishes
Hey not much change really. I keep falling asleep and missing next dose o paracetamol so wake up like shit x
Ugh, you might give your Dr a call if it's still grim tomorrow. My reaction lasted 24 hours, and I've read many people do have short term flu-like side effects but they shouldn’t last long. Hope you get some sleep
