Hi everyone hope you are all ok today

Well today's the day for my pre assessment.

I'm in West of Scotland and wonder if there is anyone else at the same stage as I am.

Wondering how long after pre assessment was your op?

Wondering, wondering about so much and yet at the same time nothing at all.  Doesn't make sense does it!

  • Hi, I remember my pre op assessment being much quicker and a lot less interesting that I was anticipating (Blog post pre op) but it is a good chance to ask questions and maybe they will give you a sense of timing for your op. Best wishes

  • Hi Chisi,

My pre-op assessment was a week before my op.  It was also the day I had the marker inserted.  It did not take long, bloods taken, bp done, ecg and your height and weight.  Then you could ask any questions you were not sure about.  My BP was high, so I had to monitor it at home for three days.  But I think it was ‘white coat syndrome’ as they say.  Hope yours goes well and you get a date for your op.  Take care x

  • Hi Chisi, I was in surgery 2 days ago, nearly 4 weeks after my pre-op appointment. Hope you don't have to wait as long x

  • Hi hope you don't mind me pasting from another.....

Gobsmacked is how I'd put it, at my pre op nurse told me my op is scheduled for Wed 24th!!!  It was up on her screen.  Because I didn't know she made a call to surgeons secretary to verify.  Letter is in the post.

I'm so very happy not to have any more wait and wondering when.  Thanks for your  support, means a lot x
