Anyone on Tamoxifen and how are you dealing with the side effects??
Hi Thatman, I take Mylan brand. So far hot flushes and occasional hip ache, but not sure if hip ache is from tablets.
I take my tablet at night. The hot flushes are annoying but doable. I think there is a tablet one can get beginning with a V but at the moment I’m coping.

Thanks for the reply, mine are Relonchem.
I start them today but I think I will take them later in the evening. Best wishes
Hi, I have been on Tamoxifen for 4-5 months and my hot flushes are unbearable (literally dripping sweat every hour or two), has been hard during the hot weather last week. Anyone know if the hot flushes will last for the entire time on this medication?
One positive is that I have not had a period in this time, so after 2 years they will test my blood to see if I have gone through the menopause and if i have they will change the medication.
I started Tamoxifen 20mg on 2nd September, so almost a month ago. I take it in the morning and so far I can't say that I've had any side effects to speak of. The occasional short-lived hot flush, but then I get them occasional anyway so I don't know if it's a 'native' one or a Tamoxifen-induced one.
I was really very concerned before I started taking it but, as my surgeon said, you tend to hear from the people who are having a bad time with it, and not from those who have nothing to tell. So, just to reasure you, there *are* people who have no side effects, and you, like me, might be one of them.
Fingers crossed!
What I have read and researched those damm hot flushes and other menopausal side effects will last whilst on the medication. They may balance themselves out as your body gets used to them. I attended a Menopause workshop by a local doctor who said to try magnesium glycinate that can help reduce the flushes, which I have. There are limited medication that you can take whilst on Tamoxifen to help reduce the hot flashes.
