anyone else starting? first one is Wednesday, not going to lie, FREAKING out!
Sorry to hear your second dose was uncomfortable <3
Second dose today at 2.30 pm. still haven't got blood results, do they usually communicate it the day of the therapy?
First week has been bleh most of the time, also the picc line is annoying. The nurse who took care of the bandages last week used a super sticky film to cover it and it got stuck to the plastic that hold the hook and when I got it changed yesterday, it was suuuuuper uncomfortable. Bless, the nurse did her best but she could see my discomfort and pain at times and apologized
Lots of love
If they haven't communicated the results that's good. I was told they only call if there's an issue. All the best for today
fed usually they will have it on the day, one woman came wasn't sure she was staying, they got results she got treatment. hugs
if they don't have it they wont do treatment.
i found the third and fourth day biggest bleh days, will see how it goes. and i drink lots of water to flush system also drink a sport drink once in awhile.
my hair is shedding now tho

Hi everyone,
Just to update, I had my first Herceptin today, followed by the steroids, then Docetaxel and Carboplatin. The staff at the centre were lovely. Sadly, my vein blew out on first cannula try ( luckily before the chemo bit) so had to have it done again. I needed a heat pack by the end as experienced an odd pulling sensation and the arm hurt a bit. It wasn't the surgery arm, so a bit odd. I wonder if anyone else experienced anything similar? I tried the cold cap, but I'm a bit skeptical. I wore the small, but it was just put straight on with no wetting or conditioner and then taken straight off at end, so I had it on about 1 hour 40 in total. All the other ladies in chairs had lost their hair and I was the only one using it.
Overall, I feel good and no other side effects yet, bit of a headache from the hat. I have two bags of pills and filgestim to inject and I'm hoping they'll help keep the worst side effects away.
I hope everyone else is doing ok. I think my main worry is what side effects are normal. The card with the emergency lists everything. Obviously the temp/ lots of diarrhea and vomiting is bad but I do expect to feel a bit grotty! Xxx
welcome, sorry you are here, but groggy fairly normal, i felt light headed,
and sorry about the blown vein i was worried last time, now on port route, small veins so a nightmare.
ihad a headache the night of and next day for a bit, but generally feel ok, a bit dazed and take it easy. for me its two days after i feel meh, but i did the fila injection earlier this time as hope it helps with boosting bloods, will see.
also taste buds went south early, and had so e heartburn
Hi djct, I might enquire about the port option, do you think they'll do it for the 5 sessions I have left? He seemed to have trouble with my veins and had to put my arm in a bucket of hot water!!
Thanks for sharing your experience. I don't want to ring the team for every ache but realise it's important to be vigilant.
Feeling dazed sums it up well. I feel spaced out and a little headachy. Just drinking lots of water and I'm eating ok today.
Sending hugs xx
