Hi Trishajayne
I’m Dylan from the Community team. I hope you don’t mind me posting here today. I wanted to offer some support whilst you wait to hear from other members of the Community.
I was sorry to read that you have tightness in your chest and left shoulder, and that you are struggling at times to breath.
Have you been able to speak to your medical team about these symptoms? We would always recommend contacting your GP, medical team or NHS 111 if you are experiencing any new or changing symptoms.
Community members in this forum will only be able to write from their own experience. If you would like to receive guidance from a health professional, I’d suggest posting your question in our Ask a Nurse section. They will aim to respond within 1 to 3 working days. Please keep in mind, Macmillan does not have access to any medical records. You should always seek information from your medical team first.
You can also contact our nurses through the Support Line today. Our support team are available 7 days a week, 8am-8pm on freephone 0808 808 00 00, email or live webchat. They are here to listen and help you find the right support. They’re here to chat, and they can also help with any questions you have.
I hope you are able to receive helpful guidance soon and are able to get relief from these symptoms.
I hope you will find the Online Community supportive and helpful. Thanks Dylan.. I'm not sure who to speak to. The gp can't ring me back until 18th. Discharged from the oncology team and I've tried to send message to ask a nurse and can't get it to work.
It's a pleasure, Trishajayne
With our Ask and an Expert forums, you will use them in the same way that you have used this forum.
You can post your question by starting a new discussion in the Ask a Nurse forum. If you click here, you will be taken to the forum and then you just need to click on the "+new" box as shown in the screenshot below.
I hope that this helps.
If you are still struggling with this please email us community@macmillan.org.uk or you could also speak to a Macmillan nurse on 0808 808 00 00.
