Hi everyone,
After a very long 4 week wait I have my clinic appointment on Friday (symptoms - left armpit & breast pain, new skin puckering + lump and anxiety induced migraines!)
My letter was pretty vague. I’m in Scotland and just wondered if anyone can shed light on what to expect?
I feel like life has been put on hold with uncertainty and I just want to say you are all amazing, warriors putting one foot in front of the next. As amazing as you all are I sincerely hope I have no need for group going forward, but have a feeling I might. An odd sense of calm actually.
Anyway, wishing you all strength in whatever journey you are on, this place is another example of women lifting women and it’s beautiful x
Mine (in England) was a call back from routine mammogram into the ‘1 stop shop’. Started out with the nurse who told me what they had seen on the mammogram. Then the 3D mammogram to build up a more detailed picture in segments. You are gripped twice in the standard ways, but the machine moves to take images from different angles. Then ultrasound and ultrasound guided biopsies. The doctor showed it to me on the screen, confirmed he thought it was cancer. Then back to the nurse, who booked me in for the meeting 10days later with the surgeon to discuss biopsy results / schedule next steps.
I was there around 4 hours. The hospital was still operating with minimally allowed visitors, so I had gone on my own. To make matters worse, hubby was 200 miles away at the time. I hotfooted it onto a train afterwards to go find him.
Hi Everyone -
Thank you so much all for your responses and help in preparing for that appointment! It was a brutal 4 weeks.
Thankfully I got the all clear, after such a long time on the ceiling with anxiety I think it will take a couple of days to come down.
I hope sharing my symptoms (armpit pain, left breast pain and new dimpling) can reassure others on the Google search as I could only find things to confirm my worst fear.
To everyone who didn’t get the news they were hoping for, I’m wishing you all the best in your journey, you are amazing.
Big sincere love ️
