I have been diagnosed with a grade 2 cancer my tumor is 8 mm and hasn't spread yet I've been told the prognosis is good, but have read this type of cancer comes back, has anyone recovered from this I get my treatment plan in 2 weeks, I I need some advice please
Hi,
I was diagnosed with grade 3 invasive breast cancer in January 35mm and had surgery in February. I had good clearance and no lymph nodes involved.
My consultant says my treatment is with intent to cure. I’m oestrogen and HER2 positive, so my treatment plan is start chemotherapy/ Herceptin in early May, then radiotherapy, plus hormone targeted tablets to hopefully prevent it coming back.
Have they said whether it is oestrogen or HER2 positive?
sending love.
Hi MONZAS
I was diagnosed this time last year with grade 3 triple negative breast cancer (TNBC) 16mm. I had a lumpectomy followed by chemotherapy and radiotherapy and went today for my first mammogram since treatment finished. My oncologist said he didn't expect the cancer to return

Hello Monzas, sorry to hear that you have just found out your BC diagnosis. Difficult time as so much information still needed . You said some positive things in your post and prognosis is good so good to hear, What type of cancer do you have as every type is different in treatment, prognosis etc.
I had DCIS in right and stage 1 invasive in left both estrogen and progesterone positive.
Take care and this forum has so many wonderful people who are willing to share.

Ductal I think was there myself, it was just the nurse I was in and out in 5 min, so my mind is a bank
Hi Monzas, sorry to hear of your diagnosis. I was triple positive and have had my surgery and finished chemo now. I have still got radiotherapy for 15days, targeted treatment for a year and hormone treatment for 5 years. I’ve found for me surgery was to get rid of the cancer, chemo was to treat the whole body to kill off any cells that may have been floating around, radiotherapy to target the specific area my cancer was in, targeted treatment to the HER2 protein cells to stop them growing and hormone treatment to block or lower the hormones in my body that fed the cancer. I have no guarantee that it won’t come back as I don’t think anyone for certain can ever tell you that. The aim is to treat and then continue with medication to help prevent reoccurrence in the years to come.
Someone told me
“you are basically a passenger during treatment so try and focus on the view (the good stuff that surrounds us) and leave the driving and stress to your medical team.”
I found this has helped me loads and I try to think positively and banish negative thoughts - they don’t help me on this rollercoaster of a ride.

Sending you best wishes for your journey.
