Hi everyone, hope you are well. I've been following the group but wasn't a member yet, and I wanted to say hello and a massive thank you, I'm sending love to all of you, you all helped me so much through my journey from July 2022 when I found a lump on my breast until now. I've had a left mastectomy in September, had some really dark moments, but slowly recovering, physically and mentally. My treatment plan was the mastectomy with delayed reconstruction. No chemo, radio, or hormone tablets. I will have physio, and will see the consultant and nurses for regular checks . Anyone here on a similar situation? Feeling down, tearful, hugs to you all XXX
Hi Miramar78, glad that you are posting as there should be ladies who have been in your situation. I have not but just wondering if you just had DCIS. I assume not estrogen or progesterone positive as not on any meds for it. Everyone has different treatment plans and many things go into the decision. Wish I could be more help.

Hi Marimar78
Welcome to the forum and sorry to hear that you have been diagnosed with breast cancer. I'm glad to hear that you found the group a help during your treatment. Don't be too hard on yourself, it not at all surprising that you are feeling down after what you've been through. Things can be a whirlwind while you are receiving treatment and then everything calms down when treatment finishes which can leave you feeling lost as you are not having all those tests they do to make sure that they give you the right treatment for your cancer. There's a great article by Dr Peter Harvey called After the treatment finishes, then what which sums up perfectly what post treatment can be like. I've read the article myself and it made a lot of sense. There the link to the article: https://www.workingwithcancer.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/After-the-treatment-finishes-then-what.pdf. Hopefully you will find it useful.
Do you have a Maggie's Centre near you or a similar Cancer Charity? If you do why not call in phone them and talk to one of the volunteers that run them. There is always someone there with a listening ear and they can arrange free counselling sessions for you if that's a route you'd like to take.
When I struggled after I finished my treatment I contacted my local cancer charity and had counselling and reflexology and found it a great help. If you'd like to know more about my cancer journey just click on my name.
Hope you find this a help and wishing you the best of luck in the future.
Best wishes
