Hi all,
I’ll be starting on Verzenios (abemaciclib) next month. I’d be really grateful if anyone taking it could share their experience of side effects - thanks!
So Sorry to hear this, was it the Abemaciclib that caused the cellulitis? Has the antibiotics cleared it up? Fingers crossed you will have no further problems on your restart. It’s all too much at times but onwards and upwards from now on. Take care xx
Thank you Barbara , yes the antibiotics eventually sorted it out although now left with a swollen hard area that the surgeon says should settle down
I’ve restarted the treatment so fingers crossed
I hope you’re well ?

Hiya
Fingers crossed it’s onwards and upwards now.
I don’t think it was the Abemaciclib that caused it , no , I think it just didn’t help . I had cut my hand and it got quite bad and they think that’s what triggered the infection , then it was a combination of that plus RT side effects and a lowered immune system I think
How are you getting on now ?

Oh bad luck then re cutting your hand and the affect it had. Reminds us all to be careful.
I’m in street street (apologies). Today my tooth split right up to the gum and half broke off. I’ve had one dose of the 6 monthly zoladronic acid infusion. It being Saturday and a long weekend I can’t contact anyone and I’m pretty scared now about the jaw problem. Anyway, I’ve had a big break from Abemaciclib due to bad side effects and then a terrible cold and cough but I’m due to restart on Monday but only 50mg twice a day. So worried about my tooth! Xx
Glad you’re doing well , that’s good news ️
Thank you for the hugs and the lovely support , , sending some back to you ️

Oh no , that sounds so painful , I’m so sorry thats happened , there’s no emergency dental care ? Could NHS out of hours help ?
On top of you having bad side effects and a cold / cough , you’ve had a time of it too it sounds like !
Sending a massive hug
Let me know how you are

Many thanks for your help. Oddly enough I’m not in pain with it. Maybe the tooth is dead. Im just so concerned because it’s so dangerous to have a tooth out while on zoladronic acid infusions. Im not even sure my dentist will touch it. I’ve got an out of hours oncology number but I don’t feel I should bother them when I’m not in pain.
Wishing you well xx
Sorry to hear that you had cellulitis. Hope you have a better run at Abe this time.
Best wishes

Good morning,
My name is Bea. I read your comment posted 2 years ago. I am under Chemo treatment ater mastectomy and Radiation will follow during the summer.
targeted therapy like the one you talked about is one of my alternative for the next step.
my question are : How are you after 2 years of treatment? Did you keep taking it or did you get adjustment in between? How do you feel today?
I look forward to hearing from you.
Kind regards,
Bea
