Hi. I had Her2+ ER+ breast cancer. Mastectomy no lymph node involvement.
Am into second year of Letrozole and suddenly my skin has become extremely wrinkly.
Has anyone else experienced this. I want to stop Letrozole. Has anyone tried collagen supplements do they work.

Thank you

  • Hi Krysia

if you look on Liz o’riodan’s grid on Instagram, she did a video on this. Unfortunately collagen isn’t that safe for hormone positive bc if taken orally as cancer cells can use it somehow. I can’t remember the exact science but it’s worth checking out. She was a breast surgeon before her own diagnoses and has a phd in oncology.  I think you can still apply it topically and it may be safe for you if you had no lymph node involvement…but it’s worth doing your research. Xx

  • Hi , thanks for starting this thread, funnily enough I said to my husband today how wrinkly I seem to have become, all of a sudden! I’ve been on Anastrozole for 3 and a half years and I’m the same age as you (well briefly the same, I’m 63 imminently!). I haven’t taken the best care of my skin but I’m convinced I’ve got particularly wrinkly quite quickly so it probably is the Anastrozole. I’ll have a look for the stuff by Liz o’Riordan, I’ve liked all I’ve read of hers. I haven’t tried any supplements, just take calcium and vitamin D. Love and hugs, HFxx

  • I’m so sorry to hear about your experience, but I totally understand how you’re feeling. I had a similar situation after a long treatment, and I noticed my skin started to lose its elasticity as well. I was also on a medication that left my skin dry and wrinkled, and I really wanted to try something to help.
