Hi all, I have just been diagnosed with grade 2 lobular, with spinal metastases, and have been told i have to wait '3-4 weeks' to start chemo/targeted therapy. I am 73 years old so presumably have low priority.
Also that my spinal mets are widespread and that one vertebra has completely collapsed.
But I am reasonably active, with full mobility so find that really hard to understand.
I feel scared and upset that i have to wait as the breast tumour seems to be growing quite fast.
advice would be really welcome.

Hi Terri
Sorry to hear about your recent diagnosis - love your name, very apt.
Just to reassure you that your age does not mean you are not a priority. I had to wait about the same amount of time to start chemo, as my onc said that she would need to order the drugs. Similarly to you, I had chemo plus targeted therapy. I didn't have known mets, but did have large lump and a positive node beforehand. The neoaduvant treatment worked a treat for me and I got a complete clearance from this before the surgery.
I do remember the agony of the waiting to get started and all the time feeling that the primary was growing - I could feel it pushing outward.
Very quickly after starting the treatment it changed. I could feel it soften and the pressure stopped by the end of the first chemo cycle and then all gone by the end. The good thing about the chmoe/targeted therapy is that is works systemically throughout the body all at the same time.
Wishing a good outcome for you.

Hi wattapain
Welcome to the forum and sorry to hear that you have been diagnosed with breast cancer.
Just take things one day at a time and do the things that you love doing to help keep your mind off things. I also found meditation a useful tool if I was feeling stressed about my situation.
Wishing you the best of luck, with your treatment when you start it.
Best wishes
