Last week I had to have a blood test to see whether I was one of the unlucky ones to be allergic to her2 treatment. She said that only very few have this problem, sadly I have had a call to say I am.
They have left me mythering and have said I need to see my consultant Thursday. So I now do not know what this means for me! Why is life so shit?
Has anyone else been through this??
Hi Youhavegotthis
So sorry to hear of this hiccup for you along the way. I have not heard of being allergic to HER2 treatment. Also, I dont think I was tested for it, unless they didnt say.
I think that there are some other newer drugs available which target HER2 receptors over and above the usual T & P that a lot of us are getting. I hope your consultant has a nice effective plan B ready for you.
If you are worried, phone McMillan or your own BC nurse and ask what the alternative options usually are for folk in your situation.
Wishing you all the best
