Hi all I am new to this group and I don’t have much knowledge about technology so don’t know where to find lots of thing .
I have been diagnosed with breast cancer amd had surgery to remove the tumor too but I am feeling lots of burning at site . I also got appt with oncologist but very scared about it.I know I am not having chemo but I still need radiotherapy so I am worried about it as I am not sure about it.is anyone here had radiotherapy ?
Welcome. Its a very active site so some subjects roll off the front page but there is a dedicated radiotherapy site here:
I'm halfway through mine. Click my name to read my tale. Feel free to post any questions. I'm not sure your wound should be burning. Not sure when your oncology appointment is but may be worth phoning your breast nurse to check all is OK. Rads is OK. I find it tiring due to driving to hospital and the fact that they don't run to time so take a book and a drink to keep going. Good luck x
Hi Nitu12
Sorry that you are joining our club here. I finished 19 doses of radiotherapy at the end of June. There were 15 standard doses and 4 boosters. It is much easier to go through than the chemo. and each session only takes about 10-15 minutes, or so. I didn't have any reaction while going through the sessions. However, about 10 days afterwards the exposed area was a bit pink like sunburn and I did get what they called skin-skin burns under my droopy large boob where the skin broke a wee bit. It only lasted a few days and then healed up. The BC nurses suggested that I had not been putting the Zerobase cream on often enough. I just put it on morning and night. So keep slastering it on even after you have finished RT.
Best of luck going through your treatment.

Thank you so much.I had my operation last months and appt next week with oncologist for radiotherapy discussion so I was a jot worried .
They should explain next stage for you and plan. Its a lot to take it. Surgery is a big hurdle which you've done. Take time to rest, heal and try not to worry too much. I know this may be hard. X
