I completed 23 sessions of RT about 10 days ago. I expected to feel relieved/pleased etc. I now feel quite emotional and suspect it could be because I have been so busy with appointments etc I think maybe I have not had the space to think about the emotional aspects of diagnosis surgery and treatment. Has anyone else experienced this and how did you deal with it? I am wondering whether oestrogen reduction medication is contributing to this, so I have asked my question in that group too.
Hi Mondaymobster welcome to the forum. What you are experiencing is something that all of us who have had Breast Cancer and treatment comes to an end have had happen to us as well so you are not alone.
Being without Oestrogen can and does affect us and our moods and we can become more emotional as the medication kicks in, so this could be contributing to how you are feeling.
I f you have access to the internet look up Dr Peter Harvey and get the article he has written entitled "After the Treatment finishes" What Next". It is excellent and I guarentee you that what you are feeling and thinking is covered in that article and will explain things much better than I ever could.
Sending some huge big hugs your way for now. xxx
Thanks Granny59, will have a look at that article. Thanks also for responding despite my typo, should have read “after “ RT
