i am on 12 Paclitaxel and 3 weekly herceptin and i am just over half way . Is it my imagination or is my eyesight affected ? i feel like my eyesight has deteriorated slightly during treatment ? Nothing neurological like double vision on anything
Probably not your imagination. I had different chemos - EC and Docetaxel +Herceptin & Pertuzumab. I had blurry vision come on quite suddenly also. I telephoned my optician, really just for reassurance. He insisted on doing a domiciliary visit, during lockdown here, and he thoroughly checked out my vision and eyes.
He said that it was not anything to worry about in my case. He thought it was the eye muscles which had been affected by one of the drugs. He said that this sometimes happens and he thought it would return to normal afterwards. Which it did. I had it partway through several cycles and it improved towards the end of each. Gives one a worry though.
I think you should get checked out by your optician just to be on the safe side. Eyesight is too important to be casual about.
I finished my chemo pacilitaxel 4 weeks ago and I to have 3 weekly herceptin injections and yes my eyesight has got worse so it's not your imagination my lovely xxx
My eyes went really blurred for a few days after EC, though not on docetaxel. I think it is pretty common. I had my eyes tested a few months after chemo and they were really healthy and barely any change from previous prescription (which had been 18 month ago) so I think it just seems to affect you while you're having chemo.
