Hi I'm not new !
I just cannot find how to just ask a question! Not very tech savvy I'm afraid and I've not been on here for a while. I'm on letrozole and while I have had a lot of painful side effects they seem, after a couple of years to be easing off. But has anyone else had problems with hayfever?
I have had hay fever for a long while but not very bad. This year it is awful is this yet another side effect of the treatment or maybe this is just a very bad year for allergies
.
Sending hope and blessings to everyone going through this journey
Hi Pisqueak Sorry that you are finding the forums difficult to navigate, can we help in any way for you?
I have not heard of this as being a side effect of Letrozole, but I know that I have had a type of hayfever and hives for months now, so not sure whether as you say this is just a bad year for allergies. I have been on and off prescribed Anti Histamines so if it gets bad just speak to the GP and thee should be able to help with this.
I have inserted in this email the discussion re Letrozole and side effects and if you just click on the link it will take you straight to that forum .
Thanks Gail will look at that , it probably is just a bad year then , I have anti histamines etc from doctor already. They are also querying heart failure , so breathlessness etc also could be from that. Cannot get heart scan yet due to backlog of covid ! So it's sort of trying to sort one thing from another and it's so difficult to get appt s .
I will check out the link now

Hello. Sorry to hear about your Hayfever. It has been bad for many this year. Not uncommon for hayfever to come on later in life. Maybe unrelated to a Letrozole. I am interested in your side effects wearing off. I have painful joints and stiffness after 9 months on a Letrozole.
is this something you had. Would be good to know if it improves.
Stay Positive.
Hello, I had very painful muscle spasms in my back occasionally before my cancer. I was on anastrozole? at first and I was getting awful muscle spasms daily , so bad I just couldn't cope. I was then given letrozole which didn't change anything . I was then wondering if maybe it was the operation (mastectomy) that had caused this. Doctor was prescribing ever more painkillers. These weren't really doing a lot apart from making me sleepy ,
Eventually I spoke to a nurse specialist ( Dr was probably fed up of me) who prescribed some morphine.
1 dose of this in the morning let's me get through the morning almost normally.
If I do too much later and the spasms start and need another dose it upsets my stomach and i end up nauseous or vomiting .
I do get less finger and wrist pain recently though so that is good which I am thinking is me getting used to the letrozole.
Sorry this may not be helpful to you but I really hope your joint pains get less .
I never expected any of this when I was diagnosed but hey it all is what it is.
Sorry for such a long post.
