Hi everyone. I was due to have my 4th cycle (FEC-T) moving onto the T part tomorrow. However I had my bloods done today and my liver count was high. I have been in hospital and been on antibiotics for 10 days (finished them yesterday) due to Cellulitis. I guess I'm just wondering if this has happened to anyone else and will the delay do any harm. I have to go back in a weeks time to get my bloods redone. They did say it was due to the antibiotics but I'm worried about the delay of not getting the chemo in. Hope that makes sense. Thank you.
Hi Forrest,
I had my 3rd EC delayed by a week as I also had a high liver count due to antibiotics. The next week it was still high but it had come down and by the next session it was back within the normal range. They said it is pretty normal when you have had a course of antibiotics. I was also sent for a sonar of the liver just in case as my CT had picked up what looked to be benign spots on my liver. All is good and they are benign. Trust your team, they have your best interests at heart.
Good Luck with the rest of your treatment xxx
